Once

Once,
when your sunless world seemed eternal,
I was with you.
Once,
In the silence of the morning,
we shared the sublime wonder of love.
Once,
As, in harmony, our hearts sang songs of thanksgiving,
I was with you.
Once,
As dread and panic engulfed you,
I carried you to safety.
Once,
As those fears faded from your life,
I was your guide.
Once,
As passion immersed our hearts,
We became one.
